Not only will you be reading my posts about this event, but also I’ve set up a flickr slide show of my pictures from THIMUN (the Hague International Model United Nations), I’ll also be adding video to the site.
A bit about THIMUN
THIMUN brings together over 3000 students from all over the world tp a United Nations forum. Students debate on world issues in the commissions of the real United Nations. Each commission meets in different settings and is chaired by THIMUN students; the entire forum is student run.
REPORT: Day 1 at THIMUN
This is really what I will probably be doing this week, posting about the happenings of the day here at The Hague and throwing up some photos, I’ve also been working on a short video that I will display at the end of the week of life here at the Hague.
We left this morning from Germany at 8:00, the bus trip was only 4 or 5 hours, which is nothing compared to my 28 hour bus trip I took to Ibiza in my Sophmore year. The bus trip was split in half by a stop to McDonalds. We took a picture of the Golden Arches sign with Evan.

After lunch we had another two hours to go before we were dropped off at the youth hostel.
We got our rooms here at the hostel [pictures to come] and unpacked all of our goods. We took our resolutions over to the Conference Center and were given a tour of the facility. Check out the picture of the General Assembly before the chaos.

Later, we began the lobbying process. My resolution is in the Disarmament Committee, so I found a few people that were in my assembly. We were only there for about a half hour so not too much on resolutions was accomplished. Tomorrow morning we will begin the merging of resolutions and editing our works with other nations.
Well that is all for today, not nearly as exciting as things will be tomorrow when the games begin. I only have internet access here at the Conference Center so I work on everything offline and post when I get to the Wi-Fi.

P.S. >>> I have created a Flickr slideshow of the photos here at THIMUN. I will keep it up to date so check it out on the link below.

Thanks for the comments, its good to see the site getting some hits. It’s also amazing how slow the internet here when you pay for it. More updates are coming this week, just slow due to junky internet.
