The Bose experience

This week I was able to do something pretty interesting, I was in the Annapolis Mall, after seeing the new Mac Pro, and I stopped in the Bose store.

I have always been a big fan of Bose, a friend of mine had an awesome pair or their headphones that I fell in love with, their surround sound is great and I am a big fan of the sounddock.

The Theatre

While in the store I was asked if I wanted to see a show, I thought “sure.” So I filled out a little survey, and went into their little theatre.

The theatre featured an HD projector, with movie-theatre-like seats. I sat down and looked around and noted the large speakers and sub-woofer, and the bulky system.

I was greeted by scenes from some of my favorite action movies and the sound was amazing. Granted this also looked good, due to the HD projector, but the sound was amazing.

After about ten minutes of this the Bose representative came in and and removed the large speakers, sub-woofer and system. Underneath of this bulky equipment was Bose’s tiny speakers. I was very impressed with with the high quality sound with such tiny speakers.

If you have not sat down in a Bose theatre then I am sorry I gave away the secret, but you should check it out for sure.

Don’t you really want a pair of those QC-3 headphones? I stopped in the Bose Outlet Store in San Marcos, Texas, and tried them out with Mrs. O’Donnell. VERY nice — but that price makes a purchase pretty hard to justify.

There’s no doubt Bose puts out great sound but never at a discount (although I once found an unbelievably low price on the Bose computer speakers in the AAFES.com closeout section).

Yeah Bose amazing for sure, and the QC-3’s are impressive, but I am a poor college student. I can’t afford anything close to Bose. I sure do miss the good old AAFES deals.
