What this means for Apple

Apple seems to be in the spotlight of tech news everyday, there are always rumors about what they are unveiling next because they do it all in secret. They even have sites devoted towards predicting guessing what is next.

Yesterday Apple got rid of the Intel Core Solo in their Mac Minis and released a new and improved line of iMacs. Their prices are starting to match up against that of their fellow competitors, as noted at WWDC.

Hmm?

The latest news for Apple is a special event on September 12th, but by quietly releasing the iMac and Mini updates what does this leave for the showtime event?

Being a big fan of Apple, I have predicted what Steve will show the world at several Mac events, and if I do say so myself, I am not half bad at guessing. Now, keep in mind that I have no insider information at Apple, like ThinkSecret or AppleInsider claims to have. I make my predictions based only on the information I have gathered by being a big fan of Apple and noting their past patterns.

What do I see?

The event has been code named the “Showtime” event, which to me means only one thing to me, media. On September 12 Apple will be showing off the new and improved iTunes media store, which features movie downloads (most notably by Disney) at a price of $14.99 per title. Of course like anything sold on iTunes these movies will be protected by DRM, but will play on their new media device, the 6th generation iPod.

That is right! I have said before that Apple was not ready for new iPods at other events, but now the time is right. It has been almost a year since the 5th generation debuted and now Apple will show the world the 16:9 media friendly iPod.

Wow

“Showtime” will for sure be a media upgrade for Apple, there has been a lot of speculation about a media center Mac Mini, which I feel will not happen because Apple has just upgraded the Minis.

The iPhone has also been the big rumor, though I do not see Apple ever wanting to get into the phone industry.

Of course these are just all my predictions, I could be way off. But, the timing is right, Jobs has been negiotiating with movie compaines and the patterns look as though Apple is about to become even more media friendly at “Showtime”.

[...] Apple did all sorts of stuff today, my predictions were a little off, but Apple did not disappoint their fans who were eagerly awaiting updates from their “Showtime” event. Unlike those lucky fellas at Engadget I was not able to get my hands on Apple’s latest hardware, which looks amazing by the way, but I did get iTunes 7 as soon as it hit shelves servers. [...]
