Decking out Mac OS X

OS X is pretty, it makes me sick when I have to go and use an ugly Windows machine. Until recently I kept OS X looking very default, I have seen a few additions that I have liked such as larger folders, different looking icons and cool backgrounds. And it was not until I saw The Unofficial Apple Weblog’s desktop group series that I decided to get involved.

All OS X users should at least check out the group to see the pretty desktops, I submitted my desktop, which I changed a little after seeing some of the other user’s set ups.

My new set up is quite nice. I recommend using Candybar or Shapeshifter to change the icons, it makes it a lot easier. I am using the Aqua Neu graphite set, with a MacBook Pro icon and Black iTunes icons, I also made Adium transparent and found the Yoda icon for Adium. Finally, my favorite part is the background, which I found from Samtherocker’s photostream on Flickr, he has a few others that are good looking also.

Enjoy.
