I have been tracking the playlist machine front for quite some time and really did not see anything I liked until I saw Tangerine.
Potion Factory, the folks that created Podcast Maker, have unveiled their beta Mac application that creates iTunes playlists for you based on the beat and intensity of the music.

I have heard about some other applications that do this, such as Qloud and Soundflavor’s iTunes add-ons, but I did not feel the excitement from these plug-ins that I felt when I used Tangerine.
What sets Tangerine apart from the rest
There are a few key things that Potion Factory has done to make this application worth while.
Much like Podcast Maker, Tangerine feature and awesome user interface which is incredibly easy to use.

When you open Tangerine it opens you iTunes library allows you create a playslist with the click out the + icon. You set the parameters and the program does the rest.

I really enjoyed how neatly Tangerine sorted my music and it was interesting to see what tracks had the same style of music.

I began to make a bunch of playlists with Tangerine, since I am a playlist junkie and could see myself using this application over and over.
When I first started using iTunes I thought that Smart Playlists were amazing, now Tangerine makes my playlists even smarter.
Grab it while its hot
Potion Factory is releasing this application for all to test, note that it is in beta and has a couple of bugs. You can test it out at their blog and if you blog about it or report a useful bug you can get a key for this app when it is released.
