The Wii review by a non-gamer

Last night at 11:30 while I was waiting in line at EB my friend Chris turned to me and asked “Do you think you would enjoy working here?” “No I said, I’m not a gamer.” He asked, “Then why are we waiting to get a Wii?” “Because the Wii makes gaming fun.”
I said that hoping that I was right, and well I was.

I picked up my reserved Wii at EB at approximately 12:05, walked back to my dorm and unboxed it.

After getting everything situated, plugged in, and the Wiimotes syncing it was time to play Wiisports.
Game play
To be honest I was not expecting much from Wii sports, just a generic game that would show
how the motion-detection controller worked, but my friends and I quickly became addicted. Wii sports includes, boxing, bowling, golf, tennis, and baseball, and we tried them all numerous times.
I found myself frequently jumping when I missed putts, or trash talking when I pitched the baseball. I was having fun, which to be honest with you is something that I rarely do when I play games.
The movement of the Wiimote pulls you into the game, and I was standing for five hours without thinking twice about it.
Wiisports is a great game to not only show of the functionality of the Wiimote and nunchuck, but also to have fun with a couple friends. Creating yourself on the Mii channel and then punching your friends Mii in the face is nothing short of a blast.
Zelda too?
After my friends left I booted up the other game I reserved, Zelda Twilight Princess. Seeing people play this game has made me long for it and the videos and pictures of the fun people have playing it are truly expressed when you give it a whirl.

So far I’ve been fishing, horseback riding, goat herding, and have even shot a slingshot. Zelda is so addicting and you really become involved when you play.
Kickin’ it old school
One of the coolest aspects about the Wii is that everyone is going to like it. While bowling in Wii sports I thought about how my parents would enjoy this, while my friends and I were too. It is the little things that make the Wii so much fun, like that when you swing your Wiimote while golfing the remote makes a “woosh” sound.

Nintendo’s approach to gaming has been simple with the Wii, “fun”, and that is exactly what you get with this affordable console.
