What is to come at Macworld ‘07

If you are not excited about Macworld then I don’t even know why you read this blog. I personally have been looking forward to it since Apple’s “Its Showtime” event, especially considering the sneak peaks that Apple gave at that event. I have to warn you before you read further that I have had a bit of success in predicting what Apple is going to unveil. After the break I have listed what is to come from Apple at Macworld, but rather than everyone else’s lame lists I have given you why I believe each product will be released.

The past 30 years with Apple have been great, they recognized it and now they have noted that the next 30 will be even more spectacular. I expect to see the start of Apple’s amazing next 30 years in San Fransisco on January 8th.

What is to come and why
- iLife 07 and iWork 07 - This one is pretty simple, I would not be surprised to see Steve start with releasing iLife 07. You should expect big improvements in iWeb and further integration between all the applications.
- Keyboard upgrade - This is really stupid, and maybe should not even be posted, but Apple upgraded their mice last year so their keyboards are in need of another upgrade. Do not be surprised to see back lighting and an iPod dock built in.
- New Cinema Displays - It has been a couple years since Apple has revised its displays and they pride themselves in all of their work. For a while Apple was said to have the best and biggest display, do not be surprised if they go bigger than 30″ at Macworld.
- iTunes - Though iTunes has just gone through a major upgrade at “Its Showtime” there is only so much Steve and the boys can do this year, besides talk about how good it is. I think a couple more movie studios will be added to the loop, and maybe (just maybe) torrent support will be added to iTunes.
- iPod/iPhone announcements - It has been too long since Apple made upgrades to the iPod line, especially to the 5th generation. I am saying that that iPhone (by whatever name) will be released at Macworld and a true video iPod will see the light of day there too. The iPhone has to happen because Apple will disappoint too many people by not releasing it, and the true video iPod is just a simple upgrade for them.
Somethings that could happen (I guess)
- Leopard shipping date - It is possible, but Steve does not like to talk about what is to come, only what is out at the present time.
- iTV name/shipping date - Pretty much the same logic as the Leopard announcements.
- .Mac improvements - Though I believe .Mac will slowly fizzle out in 2007, improvements will be needed at Macworld to prove me wrong.
That is all I have for you, I hope you enjoy my Macworld predictions, come back after the keynote for the “I told you so” post.

Has Apple become ‘too’ big? at zamwi.com

[...] As all Apple fans know today was Macworld 2007, but more than that it was an absolutely insane day for myself. Last night a few friends and I decided to take a three hour drive to New York City, rather random, but I figured I could check out the Apple store on Fifth Avenue. I went all day with out watching the Stevenote or even hearing about what happened, until about 3:30 when I walked into the huge store on Fifth Avenue. Fear not, I opened up Engadget and read all the coverage, I saw iTV AppleTV and I saw the iPhone, but I looked for a continue reading button, or something more. Surely Apple would do something to their computers, or show off iLife 07, I mean how is Steve supposed to talk for two hours on these two devices? [...]
